Self-Portrait as a Silence

Rhheaa Mehta

the dappled sun

              sideways

        on the black-eyed cat

i want to be the              silence

of the dancing dust,

the sweet whispered space

                                                        of a sunbeam

meandering its way down the path.

content in every photon,

                            warmth in every space

the very molecules vibrate

with gentle

                             quiet

                                                        energy.

i am the space between the molecules of a sunbeam on the dappled coat of a black-eyed cat.
