Congratulations to 805 contributor Laurette Folk for recently winning a literary award! Her novel, The End of Aphrodite (Bordighera Press, 2020) won the Eric Hoffer Book Award for General Fiction. The Eric Hoffer Book Awards were founded in honor of writer and philosopher Eric Hoffer, and the awards seek to “honor freethinking writers and independent books of exceptional merit.” Unlike many book awards, this award champions books from small, academic, and micro presses, as well as self-published works.
Laurette has received critical acclaim for her novel, which blends together themes of loss, love, womanhood, and Italian American roots. Congratulations for this honor!
